Proper MBA Dissertation Structure Requirements

The whole dissertation process includes describing your research methods, objectives of investigation as well as presenting and discussing the results. With that, you should know about general standards of a dissertation structure, including the terms of layout, structure and word count of the dissertation your professor might provide you with.

Dissertation Proposal Structure

  • Research Proposal
  • Title: Concise statement of main topic and that identifies the variables. It must give a reflection of contents of your paper. It must not contain any redundancies. Take note that abbreviations are not acceptable in your title so be very attentive with that. The tittle must contain about 12-15 words.
  • Abstract: It is a brief statement of your problem, study objectives, sampling technique, target population as well as sample size, the data collection, instruments, analysis and data processing. You also need to include the findings and the major recommendations. It must not exceed 1000 words.
  • Acknowledgements
  • Introduction: In this part your main goal is to give enough information about your paper to make the reader/listener interested in the topic and at the same time be concise.
  • Literature Review
  • Methodology
  • Results and Discussion
  • Conclusion: It should sum up what you have discussed and presented in your paper. Make sure not to include any additional information that wasn't included in the dissertation.
  • References and Bibliography
  • Appendices

  • Do not copy & paste: Plagiarizing is really bad and you should avoid it at all costs. There are professors who are using tools to know if the student paper is plagiarized so don't even try to copy somebody's work, cause you're gonna be in a lot of trouble.
  • Follow the word count: In the dissertation structure, there will be required pages number or word count set by the professor, so pay attention to that, since your paper might not be even accepted if you exceed that limit.
  • Condense the paper to make it clear and succinct: Telling everything by telling almost nothing is a very important skill that is incredibly useful while writing a dissertation, because you have to follow the word limit but at the same time cover the topic as fully as possible. Also, don't try to make your paper super fancy and scientific, since its main purpose is to transfer information and it is better to simplify it for easier understanding.
